AI Film Creators Global Growth Program Launched: Festival Credentials, a Rights Registry and a Compliant Route into China
On 4 September 2026 the Hong Kong Artificial Intelligence International Film Festival Association launched the AI Film Creators Global Growth Program, a partnership scheme open to AI filmmakers worldwide and operated by HKAIIFF MCN. It connects a creator's work to the festival, the Hong Kong AI Film Market and HKAIIFF INDEX, and — through the ecosystem's registered mainland operating partner — to audiences and buyers in China under platform rules including AI labelling and registration. Four creator profiles are eligible: AI film and series creators, AI tool and industry reviewers, film critics and commentators, and creators of virtual characters and AI visual IP. There are no onboarding, qualification or mandatory training fees; creators keep their accounts, the IP they bring in and works completed independently; licensing is confirmed title by title; the standard term is 12 months with 30 days' notice. The program states what it does not provide: no free credits, no traffic guarantees, no incubation.
